Why do I get only 10 articles free each month?

LettersForPlay.com charges for digital access so we can continue to invest in the quality of the site and content you know and love. We’ve set the letter limit high enough that many readers won’t encounter it. But if you’re a regular reader, we hope you’ll consider subscribing. Distinct subscription packages allow you to choose the level of access to our content that’s right for you regardless of how you access it — on the website, on your smartphone, or on your tablet.

I'm not currently a digital subscriber. What kind of content counts toward my monthly limit? Do I get access to anything?

Letters, articles, blog posts, slide shows and other multimedia features will all count toward the monthly limit of ten free letters. Please note that the monthly limit is based on items, not page views: a multi-page article or slide show counts as one item (or one “letter view”). Additionally, reader contributions (comments) or community features do not count toward your monthly limit.

Upon reaching your monthly reading limit, you’ll be asked to subscribe. Your subscription helps us continue to invest in the quality of the site. But if you don’t subscribe, your free access will be reset at the beginning of the next month, and you’ll once again be able to enjoy our content.

How are digital subscriptions billed?

We accept major credit cards. Subscriptions are billed every four weeks. Your subscription will be renewed automatically, and you will be charged in advance of each billing cycle unless you cancel.

How will my paid subscription appear on my credit card?

Story Submission FAQs

Are there any guidelines for submitting stories?

Yes, the guidelines are listed on our Submission Guidelines page. Please note that the most important requirement for submitting stories is that any character engaging in sexual activity must be over the legal age of 18. We will not accept or publish stories that feature minors. No Exceptions. Please make sure to read our Guidelines before submitting your story.

How do I submit my story to Letters for Play.com?

To submit your story to LettersForPlay.com, you first must be a member.

Site members can submit their stories by visiting the Submit Your Content page and filling out the Contact form. For the ‘Subject’ field, please make sure to enter the title of your story. In the ‘Content Submission’ box you will need to paste in the text of your story. You will also need to fill out the ‘Story Details’ section and will have the option to attach image files in the ‘Upload Image Files section’.

Before you submit your story, we strongly suggest that your review our Submission Guidelines.

When submitting my story, I see a Section for ‘Story Details.’ What does this mean?

Story Details include unique title, description and keywords that help organize the content on the site.

Choosing the details for your story is very simple and takes very little time.
Here is brief guideline of what each detail is, and how to incorporate:

Title – This is the most important piece of information. The Title should be a single, concise sentence that summarizes the article (it should also be less than 60 characters in length). To determine the best title, you should ask yourself… “What would I search for on Google to find this story”? Or, more simply put, “What is this story about”. The Title should be succinct and use relevant keywords.

Description – The description is a 1-2 sentence “marketing pitch” for this specific piece of content. When writing your description, think about it from this perspective… “If someone found my story on Google, what would that 1-2 sentences need to say to convince them to click on the link”?

Keywords – Similar to tags, you should choose 5-7 keywords that you think best describe your post. In other words, choose some words that you think people would search for that would bring about your post as a result. Please use commas to separate these words.

After I submit my story, how long will it take for me to receive a response?

This depends on the numbers of stories we receive during the week. Generally, we are able to review and process your story within 7–10 working days. If your story is chosen for publication, we will post it and send you a notification.

If we are unable to accept your story, we will notify you regarding the specific issue that prevented us from publishing it. (i.e. incorrect length, content errors, etc.)

Who reviews the submitted content?

The Publishing Staff at LettersForPlay.com reviews all content submissions.

Can I submit photos to accompany my story?

Yes, you may submit photos to accompany your story. When submitting your story via the contact form, please include the image file as an attachment. Please note your images must be in one of the following file formats: .jpg, .png or .gif

Make sure your images have also been appropriately resized for the web. (preferably under 800px in width)

Our editorial team will review submitted images along with your story. However, if your story is accepted for publication, your image is still subject to review and may not be accepted. This is up to the discretion of our editors.

I am having trouble submitting my story using the contact form. What should I do?

If you are unable to send your story via the Contact form, please attach the text to an email directed at support@lettersforplay.com. Please make sure to title the email subject line the same as the title of your story. This will help us reference your submission better.

I would like to submit a story, but not have my name published. Will my personal information be kept confidential?

If you would like to submit your story as an “anonymous” author, please include this request in your submission message. We will keep your identity confidential.

I would like to make edits to my story which is currently published on the site. How may I do this?

If you would like to make edits to your published story, please re-submit your story via the Contact form Contact Us page.

Please make sure to add “EDITED” to the beginning of the original story title, so that our editors know to replace the original text with the edited version.

Please note that story edits are subject to review by our editorial team, and may be declined if they do not meet our Guidelines.

One of my stories is currently published on the site and I would like it to be taken down. What can I do?
